I can compare the past medieval times with the present times like today. Back when the people road on horses there civilization was very different. Today people don't trade their daughters to men that they don't know but, back in those days they did trade their daughters for anything that they could get from the men that dropped by just to tell the mother just how much they like his or her daughter. They also had a lot of sentences that we don't even use today like stoning if people were charged with criminal status status then the town would put that man in the middle of the town and let people throw huge rocks at their head or different parts of the body until that person died.
